Home

I like staying home.

For one thing, it's cheaper. Staying home, Amazon Kindle Store is my sole temptation.

Going out - today, for example - I was tempted by the following:

The newspaper.
A cappuchino.
A chocolate bar.
A box of chai tea.
A box of fruit tea.
An apricot danish.
Four thrift store dresses.
One thrift store embroidery.
Two thrift store books.
An English Breakfast tea.
A raspberry cheesecake.
A skirts for $69 sale.
A book on Arab-Israeli history.
A set of lower case stamps.

And no, I'm not telling you which items I resisted and which I didn't.

I also quite like housework. Especially morning kitchen work. It feels so virtuous to cook a breakfast for the two loved ones who will eat my breakfasts. And then to clean the kitchen. Dishes, benches, floor. Finishing with a clean tablecloth, open curtains. It's so...orderly.

I wish I could keep my kitchen looking like a Karl Larsson painting all day long, but I can't, because people keep coming into it and using it.

I'm not so keen on use of the kitchen after breakfast, except for tea making and cake slicing and chat.

I did think these salad vegies, grown by the neighbours, looked pretty though. So I celebrated the Finding of the Camera Cord and took a picture. See ?

  1. That is precisely how I feel. It's so nice to be home, and to use and clean the kitchen in the morning.

Mmm, fresh veggies. Those look absolutely wonderful.
